Tlaloc said turning its operation from pop-up residencies to a fully operating restaurant in partnership with Selina was ‘a big step for the business’.
A spokesman said: “We immediately fell in love with the space at Selina Hotel, for us it’s like going back in time to 1990s Acapulco.
“This inspires us to offer a modern take on Mexican food using fresh, seasonal and when possible, the best local ingredients.

Tlaloc said it was ‘stripping away’ all the stereotypes of Mexican culture – so there will be no Fridas, Piñatas, Lucha Libre or anything considered a cliche.
“We want the food, wine and spirits to do the talking and we plan to offer a space where customers can sit, relax and be spoiled by our service while enjoying the sea views by the West Pier,” the spokesman said.
Hugo Carvalho, general manager of Selina Brighton, said: “We at Selina fell in love with Tlaloc, in line with our company ethos and Latin roots.
