Children’s book store in Hassocks receives funding

A bookshop has been awarded a grant to support children’s reading.

The Mint House Book Shop, Hurstpierpoint, will recieve part of a £250,000 funding from US author James Patterson.

Owner of the store Deborah Hollywood said: “The Mint House Book Shop, Hurstpierpoint, with it’s dedicated children’s section is the lucky recipient of one such grant. The Mint House team aims to encourage children’s reading and love of books with it’s Young Readers Group and Writing Workshops and is delighted to have been awarded a grant, as it’s great to have the support and recognition from such a successful author.”

The awarded grants support indie book store schemes.
