Dog club prepares tocelebrate 40 years
The club will celebrate the anniversary at its companion dog show on June 24 at the Jubilee Community Centre in North Bersted.
Many of the judges have been selected from past members '“ several of them active in the club's early days '“ in recognition of the celebration.

Hide AdThe show is open to all breeds of dogs and has 20 classes with a choice of pedigree, novelty and obedience.
The obedience classes cover pre-beginners through to advanced level. Kennel Club good citizen bronze tests will also be taking place.
As well as the canine events, the show will have many stalls with cakes, crafts and bric-a-brac among the items of sale.
Entries will cost 1 a dog for each class. They will be taken from 11.30am. Judging will start at 1pm. Proceeds from this year's show will go to the Brent Lodge Bird and Wildlife Trust.

l Four gold and nine silver awards were recently gained by the club's members when they took part in Kennel Club good citizen dog tests.
The gold level was achieved by: Georgina Krall with Pippy, Hilary Sykes (Biggsy and Pepper), and Ann Maconachie (Rufus).
Silver awards were achieved by: Pam Thompson with Ebbie, Chris Wittington (Gemma), Ray Attwells (Sandy and Cloe), Trevor Neve (Cali), Sue Weller (Teasel), Sue Lintott (Regis), Julie Grantham (Whisper) and Sally Haddock (Daisy).

Hide AdClub spokesman Phil Lewis said: 'There is an increase in interest in this challenging by friendly event.
'The course is designed to be true to everyday life, with a dog walking along a busy street and through a car park, using a pedestrian crossing and with the dog showing obedience in a park full of enticing doggy smells.
'The outdoor exercises deservedly attracted an admiring audience.'
