Colin Mackay was found dead at his flat in Croxden Court on August 25 last year, an inquest heard.
The inquest at Eastbourne Town Hall on Thursday (April 8), heard Mr Mackay, who spent many years in Thailand due to his job, had type two diabetes and suffered a transient ischaemic attack, also known as a mini stroke, in 2017.

Dr Russell Brown, Mr Mackey’s GP, told the inquest he suspected Mr Mackay had collapsed suddenly from a stroke.
Dr Brown said, “I presume he had a stroke on the balance of probability. The diabetes would have contributed but not caused it, and his longstanding asthma and transient ischaemic attack did not cause it either.”
East Sussex coroner Alan Craze ruled Mr Mackay died from natural causes.
