A woman from Copthorne is encouraging other women to join her in St Catherine's Hospice annual Midnight Walk.

Taking place on Saturday July 2, the ladies’ only Midnight Walk challenges women of all ages and fitness levels to walk seven, 13 or 20 miles overnight. Many of those taking part know someone who has benefitted from St Catherine’s end of life care.

Over the last few weeks, nearly 100 women have agreed to join the walk.

One of them is Lisa Jarvis, whose mum was cared for by St Catherine’s.

She said: “From the moment my mum stepped through the door at the hospice, until the day she died, she was surrounded by the most dedicated and supportive people you could ever meet.

“That’s why on Saturday July 2, I’m rounding up my friends to walk through the night.”

She added: “Taking part in the Midnight Walk is a fantastic way to give something back to the hospice for the amazing care they give, not just for my Mum, but everyone they care for. On the night, there’s an incredible atmosphere and a strong sense of empowerment and collaboration.
