PICTURE GALLERY: Interior of Congress is gutted
Contractors have begun ripping out part of the interior at the Congress Theatre ahead of a major refurbishment.
Some 1,600 seats have been removed from the theatre auditorium and major work is underway to renovate the bars and communal areas.
Downstairs, contractors are getting ready to build a new cafe.

Hide AdThe theatre is expected to be closed for some time while the work is carried out.
It is part of a £44 million scheme to improve the Devonshire Quarter including the theatres and tennis centre.
