Temporary traffic lights were placed in Powdermill Lane between Catsfield and Battle on Tuesday.
South East Water’s distribution manager Ann Seach said: “We were alerted to a burst on a six inch diameter water main at 8.30am on Tuesday. The repair was more complex than normal because the damaged section of pipe was underneath a telegraph pole, so we needed to work in partnership with BT.
