City and Blues fire blanks
Sussex League division one
It was one of those days for Chichester when they failed to kill off a stubborn Hassocks side.
City dominated the first half with a continuous stream of balls being delivered into the goalmouth but, more often than not, there was no-one waiting to make the connection.

Hide AdGraham Bush had two great chances on 21 and 24 minutes while at the other end City keeper Anthony Ender showed alertness when Jake Booth thumped a shot towards goal just before the break.
The second half was more even, with Hassocks starting aggressively and almost scoring on 47 minutes only for the ball to be cleared off the line by a defender.
A frustrating afternoon finally appeared to reap some reward in the 89th minute when Joe Gromett was brought down by Nick Pitcher in the box. However, the City striker’s spot-kick was blocked by Jack Simpson.
The loose ball presented Gromett with what seemed like a simple task to knock in the rebound, but the prone Simpson reacted superbly to save again and allow his team a share of the points.
