Mixed emotions for Roffey FC after Hurstpierpoint stalemate
Roffey came away from their Sussex County League Division 3 stalemate against Hurstpierpoint on Saturday convinced they were the better side.
Dan Redman’s troops had enough chances to win, but after a 4-1 thrashing to the same side in the Division 3 cup last month, the boss was happy with a point after the 0-0 draw.
Sam Matthews had a goal contentiously chalked-off for offside while Aaron Jeal saw a header tipped over as Roffey had the pick of the game’s chances.
Redman said: “After what happened in the cup we wanted to have a good go at them. We both had chances and I felt we deserved all three points.”
