Mullets fight back to take all three points
After a 5-3 defeat at Shoreham in their opening game, Arundel had to do things the hard way against United.
They conceded with only three minutes on the clock as the industrious Wayne Joseph crossed from the right, only for the unfortunate Dave Hall to deflect the ball into his own net past the flailing James Fernandes in the Mullets goal.

Hide AdAfter a frenetic first period, perhaps it was expected that the second half was a more sedate affair, although Dan Turner should have doubled United’s lead in the 58th minute, with his chip all too easy for Fernandes.
After 73 minutes, substitute Jerry Manning’s superb through ball found Dave Herbert, who poked softly beyond Andy McCarthy to level the scores.
Mullets then took the lead in the final minute of normal time as Nathan Da Costa jinked his way down the right wing and pulled the ball back to Liam O’Connor, who rifled into the top left-hand corner.
The Arundel cake was iced in the second minute of stoppage time when Herbert once again evaded his markers on the left, cut inside and drilled under McCarthy to seal the points.
