Successful sailors are toast of club as busy weeks loom
Katie Nurton, with her crew Nigel Ash, won the historic Prince of Wales Cup in her beautiful new International 14 off Hayling Island last weekend.
She is the first woman to have won this trophy since it first began in 1927 – coincidentally the year our club was formed.

Hide AdCongratulations also go to Sophie Ainsworth who, with Charlotte Dobson, won the 49erFX gold medal at the World Cup series recently at Weymouth – as reported in the Observer last week.
This was the last major event before Sophie and Charlotte head off to the Rio Olympics.
Another of our Olympic hopefuls, Ben Saxton, also won gold, together with his crew Nicola Groves in the Nacra 17 class.
As I write Itchenor’s keelboats are finishing a successful Points Week. Many of our XODs, Sunbeams and Swallows will then head to Cowes for the Charles Stanley Cowes Classics Week in early July. Many will stay on for Cowes Week at the beginning of August.
